The Structure
Activity 4 - Journal
Reflection
Reflect on your experiences in a short journal entry.

STUDENT/PLAYER GUIDE

Think about your personal and group work in Unit 4. Create a journal entry that describes what you did and how you feel about your results.

Answer the following questions with at least 2-3 sentences for each:

  • What did you find to be particularly challenging about composing your own bass line and chord progression?
  • How did your process work? Did you like to compose your bass line first, or chord progression? Did you edit a lot?
  • Why did you make the choices you did with the instruments you selected?
  • What is your favorite part about your “song” as it is, right now?
  • What KSHH feedback can you give yourself for this week?

TEACHER/PRODUCER GUIDE

  1. Explain that each unit concludes with a personal journal entry that is shared with the teacher. The journal is a significant part of the grade.
  2. Change/edit the questions to best suit your students
  3. Assess forward - the student should know what they can do next time to improve.
  4. Student journals can be set up in LMS, or Google docs, etc. (See PREP section in the Teacher/Producer Playbook for setup details.)
